Meet Tia, Emily, and Liz of Better Than Sex Orlando

Why did our Founders choose Orlando for their 2nd Location? Orlando is a special place for Dani & Len, it’s where they met and fell in love back in 1996! So naturally, Orlando would be the perfect spot. Opening to a full house in 2015, Orlando’s small and intimate interior has continued to be welcomed by locals and visitors alike.

Let’s meet the Leadership Team

Tia - Director of Operations/Partner
Tia has been the epitome of growth and consistency at Better Than Sex.

Starting her journey with us in 2012, she has worked every position in the restaurant — server, lead trainer, assistant GM, kitchen line, baker, even dishwasher — and she now is our Director of Operations. She has opened all of our locations with us, and she is our Managing Partner in our corporate locations: Key West, Orlando, and Savannah. Tia’s expertise in opening new locations, coaching franchises, and leading our teams has accelerated our growth and elevated the experience we provide our guests.

Her pursuit of excellence transcends the restaurant. She is known for her strength and tenacity. She loves lifting, competing in Spartan Races, and finding her next challenge to overcome. Her relentless drive, intense determination, and enthusiasm are truly inspiring. Tia has been a cornerstone of Better Than Sex’s journey, and we’re incredibly grateful for her years of dedicated service and the passion she brings to everything she does.

Emily - General Manager

A burst of energy is what you’ll see in Emily, just as we did when we met her in 2021! Since then, she’s flourished at Better Than Sex - A Dessert Restaurant. Her deep appreciation for the unique atmosphere of restaurants has shaped her impressive career, starting as a line chef, quickly being promoted to line supervisor, and later to general manager. Her eagerness to learn every aspect of the restaurant, paired with her creativity, has made her an essential part of the team. Emily’s dessert platings, some of which feature on the menu, reflect her dedication to creating a memorable dining experience. When she’s not at the restaurant, Emily is an avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast who loves paddle boarding alongside the gators at Wekiva Island!

Liz - Kitchen Manager

Meet Liz, a devoted lover of emo music and an unabashed My Chemical Romance superfan. She first visited the flagship Better Than Sex Dessert Restaurant in Key West as a teenager and immediately fell in love with it’s concept. She began her culinary journey as a home baker, where she spent countless hours experimenting with recipes while blasting her favorite tracks. Her dedication to her craft eventually led her to her dream job as a pastry chef and kitchen manager at Better Than Sex where she now channels her creativity and passion into every dish. Whether she's crafting intricate desserts or managing the kitchen, Liz brings the same energy and emotion that she finds in her favorite songs, making each creation as unforgettable as an MCR anthem.
